
Getting Here: Kapoho
From Kona Airport
Take Highway 19 north (a left turn out of the airport).
Follow Highway 19 through Waimea/Kamuela to Hilo. (The northern route through Waimea/Kamuela down to Hilo is about 1 hour shorter than the southern route around South Point.)
After passing the Hilo bay front, turn right onto Highway 11 (Ken's House of Pancakes is on the corner).
Pass the Hilo airport (you’ll be heading south on Highway 11), and follow remaining directions below.
From Hilo Airport
Take Hwy 11 south (a left turn out of the airport)
Drive for about 6 miles.
Turn left at Keaau onto Highway 130.
Continue for about 11.5 miles and turn left at the traffic light onto Highway 132.
Follow signs to Kapoho (about 8 miles). CAUTION: Be sure to bear left after the Lava Tree State Park. If you don't, you'll depart from Highway 132.
Turn right on Hwy 137 (if you hit a dirt road you went too far).
Turn left at first road (about 3/10 mile or 1 minute's drive). It is called Kapoho Beach Lots road but there is not a sign on it.
